Mike Colter shares a positive response to possibly coming back as Luke Cage. The actor last played the character in The Defenders Saga, with Luke Cage season 2's ending in 2018 marking the end of the show as a whole. Now that The Defenders Saga has been confirmed as canon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, more actors could join Daredevil star Charlie Cox and others at Marvel Studios, with Colter as Luke Cage being one of them.

There Are A Few Interesting Projects

Colter's MCU return could happen either solo or alongside other stars from Netflix's The Defenders Saga. The best possible project for that to happen is Daredevil: Born Again. However, since season 1 has already finished filming and there is no indication Colter will appear in it when the show releases in March 2025, that might take longer. Recently, Daredevil star Charlie Cox revealed that they are getting ready to start filming Daredevil: Born Again season 2 soon.
With Colter now having a more positive outlook on coming back as Luke Cage, there is a chance that he could appear in the show's second season, joining Cox's Daredevil, Jon Bernthal's Punisher, Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, and more returning Netflix characters. Wilson Fisk is also rumored to be the main villain of Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4. While that is far from confirmed, if the rumor pans out, a Devil's Reign adaptation would need to include several street-level Marvel heroes, which could lead to Colter's return as Luke Cage.
Colter's Luke Cage could also join Marvel Studios in one of the studio's biggest projects of the coming years. Avengers: Doomsday will reportedly include over 60 Marvel characters, having room for Luke Cage. 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars should include even more, making it a good stage to have all of Netflix's Defenders fight together again. Finally, Colter's Luke Cage could have his MCU return in a new solo series, or perhaps a joint project with Finn Jones' Iron Fist, making the Heroes for Hire show the actors have talked about in the past.
