RHOC’s Emily Simpson Says Alexis Didn’t Break Girl Code With Shannon But Questions John’s Motive to Pay Alexis’ Salary

Season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County has been filled with drama. It has included petty moments like Heather Dubrow being accused of staging paparazzi photos and more serious ones like Alexis Bellino bringing up the ring camera footage of Shannon Beador. Now, Emily Simpson is breaking the season down and giving each of her castmates a superlative. Plus, she talks about Alexis and John Janssen and how she feels about their romance.

Emily joined RHOC in 2018 during the show’s 13th season. Since then, she has become a staple because she’s so opinionated and outgoing on the show. 

Recently, Emily sat down with Page Six and had much to share. She played a game with them called “RHOC Superlatives.” When asked who the messiest from the cast was, Emily responded by saying Shannon. She gave Alexis the cringiest title. Regarding best performance, she said the title goes to Heather. Katie Ginella got the most underwhelming. Emily labeled herself the life of the party. She then said Heather is the best dressed, but she didn’t give a worst dressed. Finally, Emily called herself the drunkest.

Later, Emily was asked about John offering to pay Alexis not to be on RHOC. She responded, “Thank you for bringing that up. I had to read that a couple of times, and then I think I screenshotted it and sent it to Shane. I don’t even understand what this is.”

Emily added, “Like that makes no sense to me at all. Like, what was the conversation? Was he like, ‘Well, if you decide not to go on the show, I’ll just pay you?’ That doesn’t make any sense. Like, you’re dating. You go on trips together. What? Does he write you a check? Does he Venmo you? Do they take taxes out of that? Does her agent get some of that? She has an agent. Does her publicist take a percentage? I don’t know how that works.”

Emily then talked about Alexis telling her about dating John and why it’s not breaking the girl code. 

She said, “She actually told me that night after Kathy [Hilton]’s party. We went back to Orange County together. She told me that night in the car that she and John were a thing, like, they were in a relationship, and I was like, ‘Oh, okay. Alright.'”

She continued, “I never had an issue with her dating John. I mean, they’re adults. They live in Orange County. They like each other. They seem happy. That’s fine. I mean, I was like, oh, this is interesting, but I didn’t think less of her or anything.”

Regarding girl code, Emily explained, “And she doesn’t owe anything to Shannon. They’re not friends. They never film together. So, I just thought it was odd.”

The interviewers then asked if Alexis and John still seemed odd together, and Emily said, “They seem to be very happy because they want you to know how happy they are.”
